Volunteer Corner

Thank You, Omelet Brunch Volunteers!

Thank you for all of your hard work today at Camp Okoboji's Omelet Brunch.  We served 322 people and kept up with a steady stream of people.  I met new people today from out of state and others who had returned to Camp Okoboji for a stay with their families.  It is always fun to visit with these people and share Camp's mission and vision with them. I even had another person sign up to volunteer, and a couple of volunteers have already signed up for the Sept. Omelet Brunch.  I heard so many nice compliments about the omelets and our efficiency.  Keep up the great work that you do!
I also heard many nice comments about the worship service, and one lady told me she now has something to take back to her Bible Study group. That is what it is all about . . . go and tell/teach others!
Blessings to each of you,

You are blessings from God!

A big "THANK YOU!" to all of the volunteers who came to the Lakes Area this past weekend to help clean up and beautify Camp Okoboji for the season and to help with the Omelet Brunch.  Everyone had plenty to do on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday we served approximately 355 people at the Omelet Brunch.  And, the work will continue into the season as some volunteers are planning to come back and finish projects they worked on this weekend.  It was a great and very productive weekend filled with many blessings at Camp Okoboji.  Again, thank you for your dedication and willingness to serve the Lord.

Thank you, VOLUNTEERS!

You are appreciated!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who were able to come to Camp Okoboji and help with our Spring Clean Up and Omelet Brunch.  We had a great group of volunteers, and it is amazing what our hands, feet, minds, and hearts can do in just a few days.  I know I didn't get to see everyone due to a toe joint injury I suffered at my home, but I did make it over to Camp Okoboji to help the office staff for a few hours.

Sunday's Omelet Brunch was delicious!  Remember, we have Omelet Brunches the first Sunday of every month from May to November.  I heard many good comments about the omelets, our volunteers, and the improvements that have been made to Camp Okoboji.  I also enjoyed meeting many of you for the first time.  Keep doing great things.  I love your enthusiasm when it comes to volunteering.  Together, we can make a difference at Camp Okoboji.

June 1-3, 2018, is Youth Volunteer Weekend at Camp.  If you want to come and work that weekend, just give us a call at 712-337-3325, and let us know to plan on you.

Blessings to each of you!

Please bring work clothes, closed-toed shoes, your Bibles, musical instruments to accompany singing, sleeping bags, and personal items.

Camp will need to know how many are coming and what nights you will be staying.

Supper will be on your own on Friday night!  We will have our opening Bible Study at 8:00 P.M followed by campfire devotions.

Spring Volunteer Weekend May 3-5, 2018

Spring Greetings to all of you!

It has been a long winter, but Spring is coming!  I’ve seen a few signs in nature to confirm it.  I’m not going to let the ice and snow that we recently received fool me.  So, with all of this excitement, Camp Okoboji is planning their Spring Volunteer Weekend to be May 3-5, and we will also have a Youth Spring Volunteer Weekend on May 11-12.  This will also be a great opportunity for you to come and meet Camp Okoboji’s new Executive Director Kirk Warnke.  He is my brother-in-law.

These cleanup days are a great way to get your families and youth involved in serving the Lord at Camp Okoboji.  We work hard, but we also have fun together as we prepare Camp Okoboji for the upcoming busy season.  There will be various jobs for everyone.  FREE lodging and meals are available to all volunteers during these weekends.  If you need lodging, please contact the Camp Okoboji Office at 712-337-3325 to make reservations.  If you would like to bring a group of youth to the Youth Spring Volunteer Weekend, I ask that you contact Lori Gamble at lori@campokoboji.org or at the phone number above.

Mark your calendars and start planning now!  I will be sending out another reminder and updates as they become available.  You may respond to this email if you already know your plans to come and help.  I look forward to hearing from you!

God’s blessings be upon each of you,

Kim Warnke
